AMAZING RESPONSE FROM SCIENTISTS
As the Science Director of Descience, I am thrilled to see that scientists from different parts of the world and from widespread research disciplines have applied to Descience with such interest and enthusiasm. Scientists have shared mind-blowing images entailing amazing scientific stories that will provide an online inspiration gallery for designers. I am proud to have such an exciting and varied group of scientists forming part of this project. They will provide unique inspiration to the world of fashion design and our scientists will form the basis for future collaboration between the two worlds.
MY JOURNEY
I see the need for improved communication between the world and the world of science. I study exosomes (small bubbles produced by all cells of the body) in breast milk, exploring questions like: Why are they there? Can they influence the immune system of a breastfed child? In my work I have used the art of crochet as visual aids to get people talking about science. The Descience project will offer scientists from any discipline the chance to make their research visual, tangible and accessible to everyone!
The mix of science and fashion in this post is really interesting because it shows how creativity and research can work together in unexpected ways. I remember working on a school project about design trends during a busy semester and I needed an assignment writing service because I was struggling to manage both practical work and written tasks.
